Fmi Postad 18 Augusti, 2009 Författare Rapport Postad 18 Augusti, 2009 (redigerade) S02E01 - The 37's Kommendör Janeway och Voyagers besättning löser ett 400 år gammalt mysterium i Jordens historia. Det sker efter att man upptäckt en Ford-lastbil av årgång 1936 drivande omkring ute i rymden! Under försöken att få reda på varifrån bilen kommer, landar Voyager på en närbelägen planet och där gör besättningen ett ännu mer sensationellt fynd. En flygande legend ... Voyager stöter på en drivande gammal ford vars radio dessutom spelar upp ett morse-SOS som spåras till en närliggande planet. Väl där upptäcker man en kryoanläggning där åtta personer är nedfrysta. Det visar sig att alla dessa människor kidnappades av utomjordingar från jorden år 1937. En av dem är den kända piloten Amelia Earheart. När de väcks upp tas de dock som gisslan av de konfunderade 37:orna - en av dem var nämligen beväpnad. Janeway övertalar dem dock att följa med ut för att titta på deras skepp. På vägen ut attackeras det av vad man tror är utomjordingar, men som senare visar sig vara ättlingar till de övriga ursprungliga 37:orna som nu frodas på planeten. Det visar sig att en utomjordingsras kidnappade människor år 1937 för att förslava dem, men de gjorde sedan uppror och drev iväg utomjordingarna från planeten de nu har befolkat. Janeway ger besättningen ett val att stanna på planeten om de så vill, men alla väljer till slut att fortsätta resan mot jorden. 37:orna stannar dock kvar. Ett helt kul avsnitt som jag mindes rätt väl från senaste gången jag såg det. Det är ju något av en scifi-klassiker-story, så att det iallafall skulle vara ett helt ok avsnitt var väl inte oväntat. Avsnittet går nog hem rätt väl hos kvinnor eftersom det är en hel del hyllningar till "kvinnopionjärism" eller vad man nu ska kalla det. Dessutom ställs här den rationella kvinnan i kontrast mot den våldsamme och bedruckna mannen i form av Earhearts navigator som drar vapen mot besättningen. Kvinnorna löser dock situationen :kyss: Hur pass realistiskt och sannolikt avsnittet är behöver väl nästan inte ens nämnas. Dessutom nämns det aldrig varför utomjordingarna valde att släppa av en ford mitt i rymden medan de stoppade flygplanet på marken. Känns ju inte helt troligt att man skulle välja att kasta ut en bil bara så där mitt ute i rymden . Jag kanske är lite för petig, men jag tycker alltid att det är trist när man inte förklarar sådana inkonsekvenser som faktiskt är väldigt viktiga för handlingens bakgrund. Sen måste jag också nämna mitt ogillande för när de pratar tillbaks om vår nutid i framtidsscifi. Allt detta "åh det är så antikt och okänt och primitivt" börjar bli lite väl uttjatat :P. Dessutom visar det ju sig nästan alltid att besättningen sedan känner till en ***** massa om allt möjligt från den tiden. Edit: Haha, autocensur på fula ord? Vi får också en crew-count i avsnittet som jag ska se om jag kan följa genom serien. Just nu är de 152 personer på Voyager. Tur att ingen valde att lämna Voyager - det hade nog blivit klurigt när de redan är så få. Dock är det väl inte helt troligt att någon med en dags betänketid ska välja att för alltid ge upp hoppet om jorden för att stanna i deltakvadranten, även om planeten är ett trevligt ställe. Jag tror också det var det här avsnittet jag hörde Garret Wang berätta om i en podcast. Han sa då att man hade tänkt sig att ha en lite utökad actionsekvens med Janeway, men att hon var så fruktansvärt dålig på det så att det därefter inte finns några större actionekvenser med henne. När Mulgrew började springa ska man tydligen ha tänkt "vad i hela friden är det där?!" . Om någon är intresserad så kan jag nog hitta länken igen till podcasten. Fmi Postad 19 Augusti, 2009 Författare Rapport Postad 19 Augusti, 2009 (redigerade) S02E02 - Initiations Efter att ha räddat livet på Kar, en ung kazonkrigare, som försökt döda honom, blir Chakotay kidnappad och förd till ett av kazonernas krigsskepp. Där får Chakotay veta att han nu måste döda Kar. Får bli en rätt kort review p.g.a. tidsbrist :P Äntligen kommer ett Chakotay-avsnitt . Hans "harmoniska" och snarast antivåldsbeteende ger direkt intrycket av att han verkligen är en hedervärd och vis man. (Dock känns det väl lite som att den här bilden av honom går lite emot hans Maquis-bakgrund.) Roligt också att gå se Nog-of-DS9-fame - fast förklädd till ondskefull kazon. Jag vet inte om det var meningen att det skulle vara just så, men det är verkligen tydligt att det är han även om hans rollkaraktärer inte är särskilt lika p.g.a. all makeup. Fmi Postad 20 Augusti, 2009 Författare Rapport Postad 20 Augusti, 2009 (redigerade) S02E03 - Projections Voyagers hologramdoktor aktiveras plötsligt på sjukavdelningen. Han upptäcker att han är ensam ombord och allt tyder på att Voyager övergivits efter en kazonattack. Under sina försök att komma på ett sätt att hjälpa Voyagers besättning, drabbas hologramläkaren av skador och känner smärta när han måste slåss med kazonkrigare som fortfarande är ombord på Voyager ... Ett riktigt stabilt avsnitt. Rätt roligt med ett "psykavsnitt" som handlar om en icke-biologisk person. Vanligtvis ogillar jag psykavsnitt, men det här kändes iallafall lite unikt och intressant. Avsnittet stärker verkligten doktorns mänskliga sida till den grad att man inte ens tänker på att han inte är det. Nu får jag än en gång klaga på Voyagers/federationens datorsystem. Fmi Postad 22 Augusti, 2009 Författare Rapport Postad 22 Augusti, 2009 (redigerade) S02E04 - Elogium En märklig livsform, som lever i rymden, tycks plötsligt ha attraherats av Voyager och placerar sig runt skeppet. Samtidigt börjar Kes äta enorma mängder av allt inom räckhåll. Hon läggs in för observation på sjukavdelningen och visar snart upp märkliga symptom. Tillsammans med Neelix måste Kes snabbt fatta ett mycket viktigt och kanske livsavgörande beslut ... When the crew of Voyager investigate a cluster of space-borne life forms, Kes prematurely enters a stage in her life known as the 'Elogium', which is the only time in her life when she can conceive a child. This causes Neelix a quandary as he decides whether or not he is ready to be a father. Just as he decides that he is, it is revealed that the Elogium was artificially brought on by the radiation emitted by the lifeform cluster. This means that it is possible Kes will go through another Elogium later on in her life when she is ready. At the end of the episode, Ensign Wildman informs Captain Janeway that she is pregnant by her husband who is still in the alpha quadrant. Ett rätt dåligt avsnitt i min mening. Det var inte mycket som "make:ade sense" över huvud taget. Ok att man kan tänka sig att Kes på något vänster stimuleras till att gå in i reproduction-mode, men att Wildman samtidigt ska upptäcka sin graviditet samt att Chakotay och Janeway redan innan allt händer diskuterar huruvida fraternisering ska vara ok eller in på skeppet blev lite väl mycket. Det hade blivit mycket bättre om fraterniseringsdiskussionen hade kommit efter att man lärt om Kes och Neelix situation samt om man skjutit upp Wildman-graviditeten till ett helt annat avsnitt. Rymdvarelserna får också IG för att de struntar i alla fysiken regler och existerar ändå. :blink: Näe, det här avsnittet får jag nog tyvärr räkna till ett av de sämre än så länge. Dock har det en intressant föräldradiskussion som gör att avsnittet iallafall har något positivt S02E05 - Non sequitur En tillfällig avvikelse i tiden gör att Harry Kim plötsligt vaknar i San Francisco. Där återförenas han med sin stora kärlek, Libby, i en alternativ verklighet där han aldrig tjänstgjorde på Voyager. Harry Kim wakes up on Earth, in 24th Century San Francisco. Harry vividly retains all of his memories of his time aboard Voyager, yet there is no evidence that he was ever on board the ship. His life is entirely different from what he remembers. He now lives in an apartment with his girlfriend, Libby, and works at the shuttlecraft development center at Starfleet Headquarters. He learns that he has designed a new type of runabout, the USS Yellowstone. After he dismisses a meeting with Starfleet Admirals because of "sickness", he looks for any explanation for his current situation. Harry uses his knowledge of Voyager's security codes to obtain classified information about Voyager. Harry realizes that he has somehow swapped places with his good friend Daniel Byrd. While skimming through the crew manifest, Harry notices that Tom Paris is not listed as part of the Voyager crew either. He discovers that Tom Paris now lives a life of crime in Marseilles, France, where he goes to try to enlist Paris' help to figure out what happened, but an altercation with Tom forces him to leave empty-handed. Upon his return to San Francisco, Harry is apprehended by security and taken to Starfleet Headquarters for questioning concerning his unauthorized access to restricted files using the aforementioned Voyager security codes, as well as his associations with Paris (a former Maquis), and is thought to be a Maquis spy. He is fitted with a security anklet to track his movements, and released. It turns out that a shuttlecraft accident caused Kim to fall into a time-stream and enter a timeline where he was never a part of Voyager's crew. A time-stream alien has been sent to watch over Harry to help guide him through the "transition". He reluctantly gives him information on where the timestream is and tells him that if he recreates the conditions of the accident precisely and flies into the timestream, he might get back to his own reality, but there is considerable risk. Harry tries to tamper with his security anklet, but unfortunately sets off the tampering alarm which alerts Starfleet. Tom Paris comes to Harry's aid and bails him out of a tight situation. They transport to Starfleet Headquarters and steal the USS Yellowstone prototype. Harry recreates everything he can remember, but when he passes through the coordinates of the timestream, nothing happens. He suddenly remembers that there was also an emergency beam out that was attempted by Captain Janeway before the accident. Harry has Tom transport him off the ship as they hit the timestream, just as the Yellowstone is destroyed in the alternate timeline. Immediately he is returned to his own reality and is happy to find that Tom Paris is also aboard Voyager, and everything is as he remembers it. Tyvärr ännu ett avsnitt som får räknas till de sämre. Det är helt enkelt lite väl många hål för att handlingen ska vara trolig. Man kan ju t.ex. fråga sig hur många som skulle vara villiga att dö för att hjälpa någon komma tillbaks till en annan verklighet bara för att ens jag i det universat har det bättre än vad jag:et i det nuvarande universat har det. Sen känns det dessutom lite väl osannolikt att ett fenomen som beskrivs som en "tråd genom universum" råkar gå precis från deltakvadranten till jorden där den befinner sig ca en tio minuters flygtur från planeten. Dessutom säger utomjordingarna som har koll på fenomenet att det inte finns några garantier för att Harry kommer tillbaks till universat han ursprungligen är ifrån om han försöker fara igenom det, men så klart gör han det. :blink: Avsnittet får plus för att det utspelar sig i San Francisco och därmed väckte lite goda minnen från när jag var där förra året I slutet av avsnittet "emergency beam:as" Harry ut ur skytteln efter att man sagt att en hull breach är nära förestående. Det sägs aldrig om skytteln faktiskt förstörs, men det vore väl rätt konstigt om så inte var fallet. Hårt att förlora två skyttlar på fyra avsnitt :P Redigerad 22 Augusti, 2009 av Fmi Citera

Det stämmer att en skyttel förstörs i den alternativa verkligheten också, men den skytteln jag tänker på är den som Harry är i när han åker igenom anomalin som för honom till den alternativa verkligheten. När han återvänder till sin egen verklighet hamnar han igen på skytteln och emergency-beamas därifrån. Man får hoppas att det går att replikera skyttlar... Jag betvivlar att det går. Mig veterligen kan de ju inte replikera saker såsom photon torpedoes, så då känns det iallafall inte som att man skulle kunna replikera något sådant som en skyttel heller. Fast å andra sidan går det väl kanske att göra det bit för bit och bygga ihop manuellt ... om man nu har den kompetensen på Voyager. Man borde ju kunna replikera en hel del delar till en skyttel också Fast i.o.m. att skyttlar har warpdrift så innebär ju det att de också måste ha antimateriahanteringssystem precis som de i fotontorpederna. Hanteringssystemen för warpdriften måste ju dessutom vara minst lika avancerade som de i torpederna då framdrivningsmekanismerna är mycket mer komplicerade än explosionsmekanismen i en torped. Citera

Fmi Postad 25 Augusti, 2009 Författare Rapport Postad 25 Augusti, 2009 (redigerade) S02E06 - Twisted Besättningen på Voyager råkar illa ut, när skeppet stöter samman med en väldig och oförklarig rymdvåg. Det märkliga fenomenet omger farkosten och börjar påverka allt ombord på ett mycket farligt sätt. Voyagers inre förvandlas till en rad labyrinter och besättningen har svårt att nå varandra. Kommendör Janeway måste stoppa rymdvågens framfart, innan det är för sent ... Voyager encounters a strange energy field during a surprise party on the holodeck for the second birthday of Kes. Many members of the crew are at the party including Captain Janeway. During this party Tuvok is in charge on the bridge. Tuvok orders the ship closer to the energy field in order to investigate only to get the ship stuck in the field. The interference from the field causes communication onboard Voyager to fail making it impossible for crew members to communicate. Realising this, the party is brought to an early conclusion and the crew make their way back to their appropriate posts to solve the problem. However, soon it becomes apparent that the ship's layout has changed and it becomes very difficult for the crew to reach their posts. Eventually, many members of the senior crew find themselves back at the holodeck; it seems that the distortions have caused them to end up near the middle of the ship. They then organize themselves in an attempt to reach crucial areas of the ship such as engineering and the bridge. B'Elanna and Tom are successful in reaching engineering but when they try to transport to the bridge they find themselves back at the holodeck. Meanwhile, Janeway becomes delirious after coming into direct contact with the energy field and is brought to the holodeck by Harry Kim in the hope that The Doctor can help her. B'Elanna makes a last futile attempt to stop the field with a shipwide energy burst but this only seems to make the field move and envelop the ship at an even faster rate. With the holodeck as the last refuge, the crew gathers there, and Tuvok suggests that the most logical course of action is to simply do nothing in the hope that they are not killed by the field as attempting to stop it is only making the situation worse. They do as Tuvok suggests and are not injured by the field; Voyager is also unharmed. In conclusion, it is surmised by Captain Janeway that the energy field may have simply been trying to communicate with the ship. This theory is backed up by the 20 million gigaquads of data it left on Voyager's computer. Det här avsnittet gillade jag. Det var lite som ett psykavsnitt fast utan psyk-delen. Måste verkligen vara förvirrande när saker och ting inte är där de brukar . Dock verkade besättningen inte riktigt så förvirrade som man kanske borde kunna förvänta sig. Det kändes lite "jahopp, nu är ingenting där det ska vara och jag går vilse i skeppet, så tokigt ..." . Tycker det också var lite kul när de skulle illustrera hur Voyager såg ut när det genomgick förändringarna - det man fick se på Voyagers skärm stämde ju inte alls överens med det som faktiskt hände ombord. Dock är det ju inte så lätt att illustrera hur det faktiskt var utan att visa en bild av Voyager i fragment lite huller om buller. Vilken tur de iallafall hade att alla de olika bitarna passade ihop perfekt även efter omstruktureringen. Om ett rum från en våning kan hamna på en helt annan våning så borde det nog finnas lite större revor här och där Snällt av utomjordingen att kopiera Voyagers databas samt fylla Voyagers hårddiskar med massor av data. Jag har sagt det innan och säger det igen - datorsäkerheten på Voyager är inte precis den bästa . Är det här månne producenternas försök att antyda att Microsoft fortfarande finns på 2300-talet? Blir intressant att se om man refererar tillbaks på den här datan - det borde ju iallafall ge Voyager en rätt stor fördel nu när de är i okänt territorium. Redigerad 25 Augusti, 2009 av Fmi Citera

Fmi Postad 27 Augusti, 2009 Författare Rapport Postad 27 Augusti, 2009 S02E07 - Parturition Efter ett slagsmål mellan Neelix och löjtnant Paris, vilka båda är förälskade i Kes, skickas rivalerna iväg på ett uppdrag och kraschlandar på en okänd planet. Där blir Neelix och Paris fosterföräldrar till en främmande livsform. Relations between Neelix and Tom Paris fall to a new low when they have a fight in the mess hall over Kes. Immediately after this they are sent on an away mission together to a planet in search of food supplies. On their way to the planet their shuttle craft crashes because of EM interference, then they must search for shelter as the atmosphere contains dangerous levels of trigemic vapor. Once inside a cave they discover a nest of eggs out of which a reptilian type creature hatches. Voyager's attempts to find the shuttle craft are halted when they are attacked by an alien ship which places itself between Voyager and the planet, trying to block their access to the surface. Meanwhile, on the planet it seems like the reptilian creature is dying because it needs nourishment to survive. After field rations have no success it is discovered that the creature feeds on amino acids found in the trigemic vapors. Once outside the creature recovers and Voyager disables the weapons aboard the enemy ship and moves into the planet's atmosphere to rescue Neelix and Tom. Just as they are rescued an adult of the reptilian creature's species appears to take the infant. Får bli en rätt kort rad p.g.a. tidspress. Ett rätt kul avsnitt med lite Paris - Neelix osämja över Kes . Duktigt av dem att finna fårståelse för varandra i slutet (kanske inte helt rätt smiley :P). Man kan ju undra vad Kes egentligen ser i Neelix ... Citera
Fmi Postad 31 Augusti, 2009 Författare Rapport Postad 31 Augusti, 2009 (redigerade) S02E08 - Persistence of Vision När Voyager kommer in i ett område kontrollerat av bothanerna, drabbas besättningen av minnen från sina tidigare upplevelser och ser plötsligt även människor de kände i det förflutna. Bara Kes och hologramdoktorn påverkas inte av minnesströmmarna. As the USS Voyager readies for a potentially dangerous encounter with the Botha, the Doctor orders an exhausted Captain Janeway to take some "R&R" in the holodeck. Janeway tries to get into her favorite holonovel, a story in the fashion of Jane Eyre, but before long, she is called back to the Bridge for first contact with the Botha. The Bothan representative gives the crew a chilly reception, but sets up a rendezvous to determine whether or not they will allow Voyager to pass through their space. Later, Janeway thinks she sees Beatrice, the little girl from her holonovel, in one of the ship's corridors. Unable to attribute Beatrice's appearance to experiments the crew is performing on Voyager's imaging systems, Janeway wonders if she's seeing things. But then Kes sees Beatrice, too. Later, after Janeway hears the voice of her fiance Mark, she's attacked with a knife by Mrs. Templeton, another holonovel character. Again, Kes confirms the event. Janeway puts Chakotay in charge of meeting with the Botha while she undergoes medical testing. Once again, the alien representative is hostile and this time, his ship engages the crew in a battle, leaving Voyager damaged. Leaving Sickbay, Janeway races to the Bridge, where the Bothan is on the viewscreen. She's stunned to see it's Mark. At least, that's how it looks to her. But on the same viewscreen, Tom Paris sees his disparaging father, Admiral Paris (not the same actor who plays Admiral Paris in later episodes); Harry Kim sees his girlfriend Libby; and Tuvok sees his wife T'Pel. B'Elanna Torres contacts Janeway from Engineering and reports that the crew seems to have fallen under some kind of psychoactive trance, the result of a bio-electric field emanating from the Bothan ship. But even as she begins working on a way to block the field, she falls prey to its spell. It's up to Kes, whose telepathic abilities allow her to resist the field, and the Doctor to block the mysterious force that's disabling the ship. Kes manages to complete Torres' work and restore the crew to normal. A telepathic Bothan confesses to having caused the disturbance, but he disappears before they can learn any more from him. As they continue on their way, the crew reflects uneasily about what's lurking in the subconscious corridors of their minds. Ett rätt ointressant avsnitt som var lite för "psykiskt". Det är väl trevligt att Kes får lite mer avsnitt där hon får vara nyttig, men det gör ju inte att ett trist avsnitt blir skojigare :P Jag lyckades dessutom somna en stund i avsnittet och vaknade sedan upp av ett förfärligt Kes-skrik. Chakotay kommer ihåg sin barndom och mötet med en märklig indianstam. På en planet får Chakotay kontakt med ett mystiskt folk, vars misstro mot alla främlingar kan få ödesdigra konsekvenser för Voyager. Upon discovering a cultural symbol drawn in the ground on a planet that was used by his ancestors to 'heal the land', Chakotay tries to contact the beings his tribe called the 'Sky Spirits.' The crew of Voyager hopes to extract minerals from the planet, but efforts to reach the planet are inexplicably hindered. Storms form instantly whenever they try to achieve a lock to use the transporters to beam down, and when they take a shuttlecraft, storms develop again making the approach difficult. Meanwhile, Chakotay remembers a childhood experience of hiking through a rain forest on Earth with his father in attempts to find his tribe. However, he wasn't receptive to the experience, he doesn't yet embrace his heritage and is in constant discomfort because of the forest conditions. Meanwhile, the Doctor wants to prove to the crew that mild illnesses do not have to inhibit work. He programs a simulated flu for himself as to act as an example to the rest of the crew. On the surface of the planet, Chakotay continues to make parallels between this planet and his journey with his father. Attempts to contact the locals fail and a sudden storm forces them to retreat back to the shuttle. Chakotay is separated from the others during the storm and is left behind. Separated from the crew and without his comm badge, Chakotay changes into clothes found at an abandoned camp and goes searching for the inhabitants of the planet. Meanwhile, Janeway decides to take Voyager down to land on the planet to search for their missing commander. As with the shuttlecraft, a storm forms as they begin their landing sequence. The storm quickly grows to strengths beyond the capabilities of the ship, rendering it uncontrollable and on a crash course. Upon entering a cave, Chakotay is confronted by the local population. They have the same tattoo as Chakotay, and he explains he wears it in honor of his father as his father did before him. The locals describe how they gave a gift to Chakotay's ancestors to protect and care for the planet but believed them to have been eradicated by other humans. Thus, the 'sky spirits' believed Voyager's true intentions were to seek out and destroy them and had been responsible for the various storms encountered. Chakotay convinces them that humans have learned from their mistakes and truly came in peace. They dissipate the storm around Voyager mere seconds before the ship would have crashed onto the planet. For the first time in his life, Chakotay feels a connection to his people. Ett Chakotay-bakgrundsavsnitt, vilket ju är trevligt eftersom han absolut behöver mer screentime. Chakotay kommer ihåg sin barndom och mötet med en märklig indianstam. På en planet får Chakotay kontakt med ett mystiskt folk, vars misstro mot alla främlingar kan få ödesdigra konsekvenser för Voyager. Ett Chakotay-bakgrundsavsnitt, vilket ju är trevligt eftersom han absolut behöver mer screentime. Jag är väl lite osäker på vad jag egentligen tyckte om avsnittet. Det är helt klart bra för storyn och hade en del intressant dialog, men var överlag lite väl långsamt och smått segt. Haha, jag som tycker ju mindre vi får se av Chocolatay destå bättre. Förutom avsnittet Nemesis, som är ett av de absolut bästa avsnitten i serien. Språket i det avsnittet var fascinerande och vackert. det här är Voyagers svaghet, allt för många möten med alfakvadranten eller för att vara mer specifik, Jorden. Citera
Fmi Postad 5 September, 2009 Författare Rapport Postad 5 September, 2009 S02E10 - Cold Fire Ett spår som kan leda till The Caretakers maka gör att Voyager hamnar på en planet bosatt av ocampafolket. En man där vill utveckla Kes telekinetiska krafter, men hans verkliga motiv avslöjas när den kvinnliga caretakern dyker upp. Kes and the Doctor notice a peculiar change in the remains of the Caretaker, the alien who trapped Voyager in the Delta Quadrant. They seem to be resonating in response to an unusual energy source. Remembering that the dying Caretaker had mentioned a female of its kind, Janeway wonders if she could be nearby. If so, a meeting with her could be their ticket home. As a precaution, Tuvok develops a toxin that could debilitate the female lifeform if she poses a threat. Following the energy trail, the crew comes upon a space station inhabited by Ocampa, who fire on the ship. Kes agrees to act as the crew's liaison to her people, and when the Ocampa leader, Tanis, boards Voyager, she assures him that the crew comes in peace. In a private meeting, Tanis tells Kes that the female Nacene, Suspiria, is nearby. She has taken care of this group of Ocampa for 300 years, and has taught them to develop their psychokinetic skills. He shows Kes a sample of the powerful abilities she has yet to tap. Later, Tanis communicates with Suspiria, who demands that he deliver Voyager to her. As Tanis leads the crew to Suspiria, he tutors Kes on her telepathic skills. The lessons nearly end in disaster when Kes tries to boil water with her mind and, to her horror, inadvertently boils Tuvok's blood instead. He collapses, writhing in agony. Fortunately, Tuvok recovers from the near-fatal incident. Kes realizes the full potential of her mental powers when her mind causes the plants in the aeroponics bay to burn up. Tanis urges Kes to leave Voyager and live on the Ocampa space station, where he says she will be embraced by Suspiria and surrounded by her own people. Suspiria comes aboard the ship and tells Janeway that she will destroy Voyager in retaliation for the crew's part in the Caretaker's death. Suspiria attacks several officers and is ready to complete her mission of revenge when Kes becomes aware of the monstrous plot. Kes attacks Tanis with her expanded psychic abilities, and Tanis' pain temporarily incapacitates Suspiria. Janeway is then able to fire the toxin, subduing her. Janeway allows Suspiria and Tanis to leave the ship, while Kes remains with her friends on Voyager. källa: Wikipedia Ett ok avsnitt, men inte mer. Personligen känner jag mig inte alls intresserad av Kes längre och tycker mest att hon börjar bli jobbig, så nu börjar jag längta mer och mer efter Seven . Lite snopet att mötet med den andra caretakern skulle bli som det nu blev. Den här kändes ju inte alls lika (relativt) moralisk och omtänksam som den första. Nu kanske det kommer senare, men man kunde ju gjort det betydligt mer kul och spännande om man utnyttjat mötet till att faktiskt ge besättningen en chans att komma hem, men att det på ett eller annat sätt då skulle ha misslyckats. Överlag kändes avsnittet lite väl simplistiskt och med långt mindre spänning än vad det fanns potential för. I all väsentlighet erbjöd ju Tanis och Suspiria knappt något motstånd alls. Kes som nyss börjat upptäcka sina mentala krafter övermannar t.ex. Tanis utan några som helst problem. Haha, jag som tycker ju mindre vi får se av Chocolatay destå bättre. Haha, jasså? Själv tycker jag nog att han är en av de karaktärer som har rätt mycket potential att göras riktigt intressant. Nu minns jag inte riktigt hur det blir med det efterhand dock. Citera

När Chakotay under en djärv enmansraid försöker ta tillbaka den, blir han tillfångatagen av sin f.d. älskarinna, Maquisförräderskan Seska. Teaser Commander Chakotay and Lieutenant B'Elanna Torres enter a turbolift. They're wearing civilian clothes. It quickly becomes apparent that they have just been pulled away from a game they've been playing – one that Torres insists she was winning easily. Chakotay counters that he was just letting her run up a substantial lead so she would tense up when he staged a rally. She balks at the idea, virtually proving his point. "Easy, B'Elanna," he says with a smile. "It's just hoverball." Before she can respond, the lift halts at the bridge. There, Tuvok and Janeway explain that USS Voyager is being hailed using a Federation signal emanating from a nearby beacon. [edit] Act One Initial analysis of the beacon's carrier wave frequency indicates that its security code dates from a month after Voyager was thrown into the Delta Quadrant. Brief optimism that it might actually be from a Starfleet effort to find Voyager is quickly dashed by the appearance of a Kazon raider that immediately starts firing its weapons. A second, much smaller ship appears, clarifying the larger ship's pattern of attack. It is cutting a small hole in Voyager's shields so that the Kazon shuttle can breach Voyager's hull. The plan is successful, largely because the attack employs detailed knowledge of Starfleet vessels and security protocols. The Kazon shuttle enters the ship at cargo bay 2 on deck 4. Once inside Voyager, the raiding party outruns Tuvok's security detail, and heads for the transporter room on the same deck. They steal a transporter module and beam back to the main Kazon vessel – after completely disabling Voyager's remaining transporters. The shuttle lodged in deck 4 has not only caused a dangerous hull breach, it's also preventing Voyager from establishing a stable warp field. Left with few alternatives, Janeway orders Chakotay to hold the Kazon vessel in a tractor beam. The vessel hails, revealing First Maje Culluh. Janeway insists on the return of the module, but Culluh refuses. Instead, he shows the secret to his successful raid: Seska emerges from behind Cullah to give a special greeting to Chakotay. Now undergoing therapy to restore her Cardassian physiology, Seska seems almost disappointed with Chakotay's predictability. She initiates a feedback loop with her deflector shields which disrupts the tractor beam. Free from Voyager, the Kazon ship quickly goes to warp. Voyager cannot pursue. Their heist of Federation transporter technology appears complete. [edit] Act Two Most of the senior staff examine the damage done by the Kazon shuttle. They sort through their repair priorities following the attack and determine that the shuttle's removal must take priority. Without its removal, Voyager cannot pursue the Kazon raider. Neelix initially resists Janeway's plan to pursue the Kazon ship, failing to understand why the extreme danger of tangling with the Kazon again is worth the risk. Janeway is firm. She explains that the impact of stolen Federation technology will irrevocably alter the balance of power in the Kazon Collective. Neelix and the rest of the senior staff quickly fall in line behind Janeway's priorities. Tuvok begins planning a response immediately, suggesting that Chakotay use his intimate history with Seska against her. On the Kazon raider, Cullah indicates that he's not going to stop with just the transporter module. He tries to enlist the aid of Maje Haron, leader of the Kazon-Relora. The basic terms of the deal are simple. If the Relora lend their support to Cullah, the Kazon-Nistrim will share Voyager's technological spoils with them. Back in engineering, Torres has hit on the technological solution to the problem. She tells Chakotay that the stolen transporter module contains a quantum resonance oscillator. If they modify a coil scanner to detect the oscillator, it will be possible to lock onto the module and beam it out. Chakotay believes that Seska will have anticipated this move, and so presses for a backup plan. Chakotay recalls a move Seska once made on a Maquis mission as providing the key to the problem. If he uses an anti-proton beam, he'll be able to destroy the module. The problem is that they have to get relatively close to the Kazon raider for the plan to work. For the moment, Chakotay doesn't answer how he plans to get that close. Torres notes that Chakotay is taking Seska's reappearance very personally. She tries to comfort him by explaining that everyone was fooled by Seska. When that fails to ease him, Torres echoes his own words back to him. "Don't tense up", she says. Meanwhile, the negotiations between Majes Haron and Cullah continue. However, Haron appears to have the upper hand. He has far greater numbers of troops and suggests that the only reason the Nistrim need help with this operation is because Cullah's grandfather wasted the Nistrim's resources. Therefore he proposes that Cullah should give the transporter to him, and allow the Relora to perform the operation alone. This meets with violent objection, but Seska manages to calm tensions between the two leaders temporarily. Voyager unwittingly discovers how she was able to do this. Paris finds a gap in the raider's warp trail. When Voyager slows to investigate, they find Haron's body floating in space. Neelix ties together evidence supplied by the Doctor and Kes, along with his own visual inspection of Haron's uniform. Since the uniforms betray the corpse as belonging to the Relora – known enemies of the Nistrim – he suggests that the transporter module was used to beam Haron and his guards to their death in space. Janeway convenes a meeting of the senior staff to discuss the implementation of the plan devised by Chakotay and Torres, only to discover that Chakotay is no longer on the ship. A shuttlecraft has gone missing from the shuttlebay, taken by Chakotay. Dumbfounded by the lack of adequate safety protocols that could have prevented Chakotay from leaving, Janeway tries to understand what her first officer is doing. With the coil scanner missing from engineering, it becomes apparent that Chakotay intends to effect the plan on his own. Cullah upbraids Seska for suggesting that the Relora would join them. She apologizes, but spins the incident deftly. She intimates that his decision to kill the Maje of the Relora will send shock waves through the Collective. Word will spread quickly that he is a powerful leader with superior technology. Cullah warms to the idea. He theorizes that the Relora were too strong to be sufficiently interested in his newfound technology. However, weaker sects, like the Mostral and the Hobii, might now join with him. When, however, Seska says that she's sent messages of invitation to other Majes in his name, he becomes enraged. She has overstepped her boundaries, and he makes sure she knows it. Only he leads the sect. She begs his forgiveness, and his anger abates. She tells him they've responded positively to "his" invitation. He dreams of being the first leader since Sankur to unite the sects. Torres enters the captain's ready room to try to explain why Chakotay has behaved as he has. Since Chakotay will likely not speak on his own behalf, should he be found, Torres wants to ensure that someone offer a defense for his actions, before she passes judgment on him. While Janeway remains firm in her conviction that there's no real excuse for his open defiance of the chain of command, she partly allays Torres by insisting that they worry about finding him now, while deferring discussion about his punishment until after his safe return. Meanwhile, Chakotay's shuttle is now powered down, and parked just off the hull of the Kazon raider. He uses the oscillator to locate the transporter module. Just as he's about to release the anti-proton beam, however, Seska unmasks his position with a coherent polaron pulse, and fires on the shuttle. She has the shuttle tractored into the raider. When a security team opens it up, however, they discover he's not there. He's beamed himself into position near the transporter module. He destroys it by firing on it with his phaser then taps on his combadge to instruct the shuttle to begin transmitting a message from a probe he launched just prior to the attack on his shuttle. He surrenders his phaser with the words, "Lovely to see you again, Seska." [edit] Act Three Voyager detects the probe's message. In it, Chakotay explains that the signal has only been activated because he successfully disabled the transporter module. He warns Voyager to avoid coming to rescue them. Seska begins an interrogation, of sorts, with Chakotay back on the Kazon raider. He's non-responsive to a variety of approaches, including seduction. Along the way, he explains that he's not only deprived her of the transporter module, but that he also completely wiped the computers on the shuttle, rendering it worthless. He still has something she wants, though: Voyager's command codes. He refuses. Back on Voyager, Tuvok, Torres and Janeway struggle with how to proceed. Tuvok recommends that they follow Chakotay's recorded advice, and abandon him to the Kazon. Janeway is conflicted. Her better judgment agrees with Tuvok, but her "gut reaction" is to go after him. Torres agrees with Janeway's gut. She asks the difficult question, "How would the loss of our first officer affect this crew? What would it do to the morale on this ship?" Janeway considers for a moment, then orders Paris to continue a course to Chakotay's shuttle. Meanwhile, Cullah has joined the interrogation of Chakotay. Now the questions are rougher, punctuated by hard fist blows. Chakotay responds to each punch by trying to appeal to Cullah as a man who's experienced Seska's manipulation. When he refuses to break, he is injected with a serum of some kind that affects his mind. Cullah insists on the command codes, but he doesn't break. Instead he says he has better information: "When Seksa's through with you," he intones, "she's going to kill you." Seska interrupts the interrogation by claiming Chakotay is delirious. Cullah exits, promising to retun in one hour. When he's gone, Seska disagrees with Chakotay's assessment of her. She says that if she were a killer, he would have been dead long ago. Simultaneously, she pushes a needle between his shoulder blades, at the base of his neck. [edit] Act Four Tuvok announces that the Kazon raider is now only about a half a light year away, but it has been joined by six other vessels. Neelix ponders the improbability of Cullah having that many ships, and says that they must come from rival sects. He quickly adds, though, that he's never known of Kazon sects to form an alliance like this. Leaving the political ramifications to one side, Tuvok says that it would be tactically unsound to proceed into an area with so many enemy ships. The only solution, Janeway asserts, is to find a way to remove Chakotay "without picking a fight". Torres offers a radical solution. She suggests that they can beam Chakotay while traveling at warp speed. Kim, Tuvok and Janeway – namely, the Starfleet personnel – are dubious of Torres' plans, mainly because it flies in the face of Starfleet safety protocols. Torres insists she can do it, because she has done it while in the Maquis. Meanwhile, Cullah is conducting negotiations between the various Majes – Loran of the Hobii, Surat of the Mostral, and Valek of the Oglamar. He appeals to them to make today the day that future Kazon children will remember as the day that the hegemony of the Relora and Ogla was ended. If they join together to seize Voyager, they will be the masters of the Kazon Collective. Valek is vocally opposed, and wonders whether they can actually defeat Voyager. Cullah claims he has Voyager's command codes. When Valek demands proof, Cullah at first seems slightly surprised, then has Commander Chakotay brought into the conference room. Chakotay looks like a man defeated by aggressive interrogation. As Voyager nears, Torres is having problems finding Chakotay's life signs. Tuvok reminds the captain there is no guarantee that Chakotay is still onboard the raider, or even alive. Janeway refuses to concede that point just yet, and asks Torres for an update. She claims there's a dampening field in place which is disrupting the targeting scanners. Janeway theorizes that Seska could be masking Chakotay's signal. Torres reinitializes the transporter scanners to compensate for the field and finds him. Nevertheless, the dampening field prevents accurate beaming. Valek demands that Cullah uses the command codes to disable Voyager. Cullah hesitates, and instead orders a direct assault on the Federation ship. Now that a battle has been joined, Janeway presses Torres for results. She gets a transporter lock on Chakotay, and almost pulls him through. At the last moment, though, the Kazon ship alters the frequency of the dampening field and Chakotay is pulled back to the Kazon ship. As Voyager gets rocked by more direct hits, Janeway continues to wonder whether Torres can complete the procedure. Back on the Kazon raider, Valek continues to demand the use of the command codes. Cullah claims that he's having problems interfacing with the Federation technology. With their backs turned on the other Majes, Cullah and Seska look furtively at each other. Seska decides to leave for the bridge, claiming she might have better luck interfacing with Voyager there. Valek moves to stop Cullah from joining her, however. With Voyager's shields now almost depleted, Tuvok urgently recommends retreat. Janeway holds his recommendation briefly to consult with Torres. She asks how big the dampening field actually is. Torres responds that it's comparatively tiny – just enough to block transport of Chakotay. Janeway thus orders a change of tack. Back in the Kazon conference room, Valek brings the issue of the command codes to a head. He accuses Cullah of lying. Cullah admits as much, saying that it does not matter if they have the command codes as long as they work together to defeat Voyager. Angered by that response, Valek pulls his weapon on Cullah and threatens to take over the ship. Before he can make good on his words, however, the Majes are beamed aboard Voyager instead. Their weapons disarmed by the transporter, the Majes are forced to concede to Tuvok's security team. Tuvok declares the terms: they will be beamed back to their ship in exchange for Chakotay and the shuttlecraft. They agree. The crisis is over. Janeway calls Chakotay into her ready room in order to discipline him. In the end, she chooses not to offer any tangible punishment, aside from putting him on report. She stresses her profound disappointment in him. "How do you expect me to keep order," she asks him, "when the first officer decides to run off like some cowboy because he believes it's a good idea?" The question goes unanswered, because the two are called to the bridge when another automated message beacon is discovered. This one is directed to Chakotay. Opting to view the message in the presence of others, Chakotay soon discovers it's Seska calling with some very disturbing news. She claims to have extracted his DNA in order to impregnate herself with it. She congratulates him on his impending fatherhood. Blod, (inte särskilt grafisk) tortyr och sex (nej, inte grafiskt där heller).... sånt är inte så vanligt i ST Kul att få återse Seska. Även om hon är en riktig buse så känns hon som en riktigt intressant karaktär och som en värdig motståndare. Genom henne får man också lite mer Chakotay-centrering än många andra avsnitt. Dessutom är hon söt ;). Jag vet inte riktigt vad jag tycker om Kazon. De påminner lite väl mycket om Klingon och har därmed inte så mycket unikhetskänsla över dem. Precis som med Klingons tycker jag att det känns rätt fantastiskt att de överhuvudtaget har kunnat utveckla warpteknik. "Vetenskapskazon 1; Du har gjort ett fel på ett tecken där *peka på papper*. Hmm, det har de inte heller, om man sett alla voyageravsnitt så vet man det. Kanske Klingon snodde warpteknoligin från Hur'q? Citera
